Red Rose Team Visit November 2009 |
The Provincial Grand Master Bro Peter Connolly, accompanied by W. Bro Keith Beardmore Ass Prov G. M. led the Team Visit to Red Rose Lodge M.M.M. at Hindley on Monday 23rd November. Thirty Three members of the current team were present and the Temple was full to capacity with a total of eighty three attending. The new W.M., Bro David Barber who was installed by W. Bro Colin Sharples, is also a past Master of Valencia Lodge M.M.M. No 623 ( Berkshire) where is also a P. Pr. G.Insp.Wks. |

| W. Bro Geoff Catterall Prov.G.M.O. a member of Red Rose gave the address to the master with Prov. G. S. W. Phil Gunning and Prov G.J.W. Bill Joughin acting as Installing Wardens and giving addresses to the Wardens and Overseers respectively. |

| The New Worshipful Master has led a varied life having spent time in Australia before setting up his own farm. Visiting Brethren from Valencia Lodge including Brother Barber’s Son attended the Installation. Later in the evening a Grand Lodge certificate was presented to Bro Brian Sharples, son of the Installing Master who has now joined his Father and Uncle John as a Mark Master Mason. Bro Brian later proposed two new members for Red Rose. |

| The Great Great Great Aunt of the New W.M., Polly Rodgers is honoured both in Portsmouth and in Liverpool Cathedral by a window as a memorial to her heroism when she lost her life in the sinking of the S. S. Stella in the 19th Century. |
